What is UbeBlock

UbeBlock is a completely new approach to the problem of identifying and removing spam (Unsolicited bulk email) emails from your network.

Traditional anti-spam measures work by trying to find specific words and phrases, look at how the message headers have been created, and seeing if a particular word appears in the message or if any number of other little oddities have occurred in the message.

UbeBlock is different, it is a learning system that bypasses all of this and instead concentrates on the one thing that the spammer cannot hide, his message. All spam has one thing in common, it has to tell you its message. UbeBlock is designed to concentrate on the message.

UFTGateUbeBlock is a completely new approach to the problem of identifying and removing Unsolicited Bulk Emails (SPAM) from your network.

Traditional anti-spam measures work by trying to find specific words and phrases, look at how the message headers have been created, and seeing if a particular word appears in the message or if any number of other little oddities have occurred in the message. UbeBlock is different, it is a highly sophisticated and effective learning system that bypasses all of this and instead concentrates on the one thing that the spammer cannot hide, his message. All spam has one thing in common, it has to tell you its message. UbeBlock is designed to concentrate on the message and eradicate it from your system.

This tool works in a completely new way to other anti-spam products: this is a proprietary system not a Bayesian system. So far, the response from users has been fantastic, and the product is already selling extremely well. Many resellers are already installing this as a default installation with FTGateOffice and FTGatePro.

After UbeBlock had determined the probability that the message is spam a set of rules can be used to determine what to do with the message. Options are, Deliver the message as normal, Tag the subject line with a user definable tag, deliver the message to a specific user for further examination, reject the message with a customized message or delete the message.

In addition UbeBlock allows the user to specify a set of "Safe Words" that, should they occur in a message, will prevent the message being treated as spam.

Real Time BlackHole Lists (RBL)

Integration with "rbl black hole lists" allow UbeBlock to determine if the message has been passed through any known "open relay" sites on the internet (sites known to source or freely relay spam). The user can then specify how such messages are to be handled by UbeBlock.

Finally, each rule can have a list of words applied to it to customize the exact nature of the rule.

Simple operation

When in operation, UbeBlock is almost transparent to the users. If they receive a message that is spam but was not filtered correctly they simply send the message to a specific UbeBlock training address and in future similar messages will be trapped. Similarly if a message was filtered incorrectly it can also be sent to training so that similar messages will not be identified as spam in the future.

No longer do system administrators have to painfully examine messages for key phrases or symbols as UbeBlock does it for you.

The analysis engine of UbeBlock makes it hard for spammers to find a route round it. It can decode base64 message, it can untangle complicated HTML obscuring tricks, if the spammer has a message he wants you to read then UbeBlock can identify it.
